EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 25, 2013-- Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY), a leading global manufacturer and marketer of value-added plastic packaging and engineered materials, is proud to be exhibiting at the 2013 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX). Scheduled for April 9-11 in Hamburg, Germany, AIX is the world’s largest event dedicated to the aircraft interiors industry.

“Berry’s Polyken and Patco tapes have been providing reliable quality and exceptional performance for Aerospace OEMs, as well as aircraft maintenance and refurbishment for decades,” said Berry Plastics’ Aerospace Sales Manager, Mark Britton. “Our trusted brands include an assortment of double-coated carpet and mounting tapes, moisture barrier tapes, surface protection/masking tapes, cargo pit tapes, and other tapes used in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul applications.”

“We’re excited to introduce two new products at the AIX show – Polyken 345SW Speed Tape and Patco 5565FR Surface Protection Tape,” added Britton. “Both are premium tapes that offer unique performance properties for very demanding aerospace applications.”

New Polyken 345SW, commonly referred to in the industry as “Speed Tape,” provides a superior barrier for air, moisture, solvents, and corrosion. The foil backing reflects heat and light and conforms to irregular surfaces and contours. With a specially formulated acrylic adhesive, 345SW has excellent quick stick for a superior bond to a variety of substrates. Ideal for extremely high and low temperature applications, 345SW meets FAR 25.853(a) flammability tests, as well as SAE AMS-T-23397B, and L-T-80B.

Patco 5565FR takes surface protection to the next level with a polyethylene film backing and low-tack acrylic adhesive that meets FAR 25.853(a) flammability tests. Patco 5565FR provides abrasion, moisture and solvent resistance in aircraft surface protection applications during assembly and maintenance. Both conformable and easy to apply, 5565FR can be supplied with 6” perforations making installation faster and easier.
